Unlike Obi-Wan Kenobi, I am referring to the pustulant sore that is the capitol of this once-great nation. Outside the halls of power, of course, the people of Washington D.C. and the surrounding area are probably no better and no worse than those found in any other part of the world.
One thing of which I am certain, however, is that they certainly have been putting out some good music in the greater D.C. area. Although part of the scene, bands like Ceremony and Screen Vinyl Image will not be included here, as they have already been used to represent Virginia. Even without them, there was still no difficulty in finding ten bands to use in this compilation. ~~NWshoegazer

9. Dead Meadow - Such Hawks Such Hounds (Matador) from the 2005 release "Feathers" ~~ some good, old-fashioned Psychedelica
10. Black Tambourines - Throw Aggi off the Bridge (Slumberland) from the 1999 release "Complete Recordings" ~~ what a shame that this one CD can hold all the music this band produced, and do it with room to spare
